Overview
Arka Labs is a research-driven company operating in a highly technical space. Their existing brand felt dated and failed to reflect the sophistication of their work. NUCA was tasked with refining—not reinventing—the brand to better match their expertise.

Problem
Arka Labs struggled to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders. Their visual identity leaned heavily on jargon and abstract visuals that alienated potential partners.
The brand also lacked hierarchy. Everything looked equally important, making it hard for audiences to understand what Arka Labs actually specialized in.
Internally, teams avoided using branded materials altogether, opting to create ad-hoc slides and documents instead.
The challenge was to modernize the brand without losing credibility or oversimplifying the science behind it.

What We Did
We started with a brand audit, identifying what still worked and what created friction. This allowed us to focus effort where it mattered instead of starting from zero.
We refined the visual language by simplifying forms, tightening typography, and introducing a clearer content hierarchy.
Parallel to the visuals, we developed a messaging framework that translated technical depth into accessible language without dumbing it down.
The result was a refreshed brand that felt confident, precise, and usable across both internal and external communication.
